MS PowerPoint – Where is “AutoFit” Feature

This is a useful article for people who just start working with Microsoft PowerPoint program. This information is applicable to PowerPoint 2007/2010/2013/2016. If you use a classic PowerPoint menu, you will need to press the tab “Menus” which is located between the tabs “File” and “Home” in the Ribbon. The only thing you have to do is:

  • Start with pressing a dropping down menu “Tools”.

  • Now select the item “AutoCorrect Options” and then a popping up dialog “AutoCorrect”.

  • Press the option “Auto Format As You Type”.

  • In the current dialog you can see the feature “AutoFit”.


If you use MS PowerPoint versions 20072010, this feature is hidden. You will have to explore the options of PowerPoint program a bit deeper to find the feature “AutoFit”. You will need to do the following steps:

  • Open your PowerPoint 2007/2010 program.

  • Press the tab “File” (for PowerPoint 2010) or simply click the button “Office” (for PowerPoint 2010).

  • Look at the left bar and click the button “Options”.

  • As you can see there is a dialog box “PowerPoint Options” which came out.

  • Press the button “Proofing”.

  • Now you have to click the button “AutoCorrect Options” in order to make the dialog “AutoCorrect” pop up.

  • Select the option “Auto Format As You Type” in the dialog box
